2" acrylic hooks are great!

We use them for the slat wall at the ends of our gondolas. We used to use metal hooks, and customers brushing past would get hooked and then the metal hook would damage the gondola. The acrylic hooks will break before the fiberboard slat wall, and I'd rather replace one or two hooks than a gondola!
